"This Lasat has given his consent."
"This
man is desperate."
"We
all are."
―Dr. Gino'le and Keeve Trennis[1]

A Lasat man alive during the High Republic Era became infected with the Blight and was cared for at the Yarvellian Institute medcenter on Protobranch under the care of the Anacondan physician Dr. Gino'le. As his condition worsened, the man gave his consent to take an untested treatment for the Blight supplied to the Republic by the Nihil Minister of Advancement Baron Boolan, who had fled the Nihil and been taken up by a crew of Jedi. Despite the healthy skepticism of Dr. Gino'le, the physician trusted in Boolan's biochemical genius and allowed the Lasat to take the treatment after it was tested on inanimate objects and a wasaka plant.[1]

After Boolan's cure was injected into the Lasat, he began to rapidly deteriorate, and it was revealed that Boolan had instead created a deadly virus that stripped the Living Force from individuals, not realizing that it would affect more than just Force-sensitive beings. The virus quickly spread from the Lasat to others in the room.[1]
