Fern was a human female[1] youngling who lived in the galaxy in the early New Republic Era.[6] Fern lived together with her mother Fara on At Attin, where Fara was a teacher and part of the government, and was best friends with another child called KB.[1] Around 9 ABY,[6] Fern met the boy Wim who found an old starship buried in the woods outside their city. After the two, KB and Wim's best friend Neel investigated the ship, they accidentally activated it and became lost in space.[1] The group of kids then forged an alliance with the ship's droid SM-33 and a Force-sensitive man called Jod Na Nawood to find a way back home and avoid a crew of pirates.[3]

Personality and traits

Fern was smart and could at times be quite tough and rebellious.[1] Fern had a mostly positive outlook on life, believing that even in the worst parts of the Galaxy there were good people willing to help a group of children.
